The Concert
The first of three BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Concerts featuring pianist Simon Crawford-Phillips, exploring the musical legacy of Nadia and Lili Boulanger.
The Music
This programme explores music by composer, conductor and renowned teacher, Nadia Boulanger, alongside the works of her younger sister, Lili Boulanger, who’s career was tragically cut short by illness, aged 24. The concert will also feature music from French composers Mel Bonis, Francis Poulenc, Maurice Ravel and Gabriel Fauré.
The Performers
Simon Crawford-Phillips is known for his broad repertoire, to which he brings expressive sensitivity and technical brilliance. He is also a conductor, teacher, and the Artistic Director of Change Music Festival in Halland, Sweden.
