Filmic Grażyna Bacewicz, virtuosic Saint-Saëns with Simon Trpčeski, intruiging Lutosławski and a freshly minted Ravel’s Boléro are expertly conducted by Thomas Søndergård. 

Take lesser-known pieces by Bacewicz, Mozart and Elgar, and finally one of Dvořák’s most lyrical symphonies: these were the dishes served up by Sakari Oramo, Julie Price and the BBCSO.

An intriguing programming of old and new works, covering the time period 1893 to 1976, which themselves contain elements of old and new, beautifully performed.
