For New Year’s Eve, celebrate with Aurora Orchestra in the mesmerising glow of the northern lights.
Packed with live music, activities, food and drink, Northern Lights features Aurora players in collaboration with Faroese singer-songwriter Teitur, genre-defying composer Nico Muhly, and 40-piece all-women choir Lips. Music on the night ventures to far horizons, from Teitur/Nico Muhly’s arresting Confessions for voice and Baroque instruments to Lips’ explosive club classic set that ushers in 2019’s Venus Unwrapped series – a year celebrating women creativity at Kings Place. Rounding off the evening, multidisciplinary artist Nwando Ebizie, known for her Afrofuturist musical project Lady Vendredi, spins tunes to dance into the new year.

A very special edition of The Lock-In series at Kings Place:
As the lights go down in Hall One, we move across to Hall Two to grab a drink and settle in for a revelatory late-night series. Curated by Aurora Principal Players, each intimate and informal performance takes you on a journey of musical discovery across diverse genres and art forms. Expect eclectic musical encounters that unfold in new and surprising ways, from entering otherworldly dimensions in electronic music to learning the steps to a rip-roaring hoedown to meeting a pterodactyl in the most unlikely of circumstances.
