A huge undertaking on a par with Wagner’s Ring,
The Trojans has everything, says the newly knighted
Antonio Pappano: ‘a war, a love story, a guy on a
mission … it’s a brilliant story! It is something I really
feel personally about: its electricity, its grandeur and
the incredible variety of musical forms are mindboggling!’
His international cast is spearheaded by
one of today’s operatic leading lights, German tenor
Jonas Kaufmann.This will last until around 10pm. There will be two intervals of 30 minutes each.
