Sakari Oramo | Conductor |
Sakari Oramo conducts one of the great 20thcentury dramatic showpieces – Stravinsky’s opera-oratorio Oedipus rex. Driving with powerful inevitability to its climax, this monumental work matches Sophocles’s tragedy in its visceral horror. In the violin concerto Duende – The Dark Notes, written for tonight’s soloist Leila Josefowicz, Luca Francesconi summons the dark, magical force believed by some to be the demon of flamenco.
Seats £7.50 to £38 (plus booking fee).
