Fedoseyev, Varvara y OSCM: Chaikovsky galano en el Auditorio

The touring Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra brings a 'Finnish Sandwich' to Leeds.

The UK-Russian Cultural Year is launched in London by the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio, in a programme of Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich. 

It would be hard to count out every single thing that was Russian about this concert. The sounds of 19th-century Russia came to Colston Hall, as part of a big tour of the UK, with three giant Russian works and three encores, by all-Russian performers.The Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio is a big orchestra with around 100 instrumentalists.

The evening’s music started with a piece I hadn’t heard before: Johan Svendsen’s Carnival in Paris, Episode for Orchestra Op.9.

Jan Mráček spielte intensiv und innig bis in die leisesten Flageolettöne; Mélodie Zhao bot eine technisch vollends überzeugende Leistung, die gelegentlich etwas über das Ziel hinausschoss.

Au programme de ce soir, de la musique russe tournée sur son propre passé, et s’inscrivant dans la grande lignée de ce qui l’a précédée. Au programme : Rubin, Medtner et Rimsky-Korsakov.
