Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo sont enfin de retour à Paris avec un programme contrasté : le fascinant Autodance de Sharon Eyal puis le ballet historique Vers un pays sage de Jean-Christophe Maillot.

Jean-Christophe Maillot chorégraphie un ballet à mi-chemin entre le cinéma expressionniste allemand dans son Prologue et les codes de la danse néo-classique. Il s'interroge sur les notions de bien et de mal, les désirs plus ou moins assumés du Prince. Une soirée dont on ne sort pas indemne. 

Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo managed to throw a thrilling surprise party, with every detail curated under the sign of Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the company.

A deeply psychological version of the fairytale, Jean-Christophe Maillot's Cendrillon provides ample opportunities for the whole cast to delve into their characters and rise to the technical challenges.

Splendid and impeccable, endowed with striking virtuosity, the corps de ballet functions both as choir and living scenography, accompanying and sustaining the protagonists. Ma Bayadère in Monte-Carlo is spectacular.
