There are many ways to experience a piece of music. Hearing the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with a mammoth chorus of amateur singers drawn from the community offered a reminder that a masterwork need not be perfectly rendered to be aesthetically satisfying.

Sous la direction d'Andrea Marcon dans un programme qui associait Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach et Beethoven, la formation parisienne a montré un style engagé et élégant, au diapason d'Alexander Gadjiev splendide au piano.

La Création sans surprise du Concert de la Loge au TCE

Dirigé par Julien Chauvin sans violon pour l'occasion, l'oratorio de Haydn a bénéficié des qualités habituelles du Concert de la Loge mais sans le souffle, l'exaltation, l'originalité qu'on aurait pu attendre.
