The final date in their recital tour brought the Norwegian soprano and pianist to London for a programme where Grieg outshone Strauss and Wagner.

Grieg's Piano Concerto is the highlight of this closing concert of the Oslo Phil's centenary tour, with Leif Ove Andsnes' exceptional technical skill helping to cast the work in a new and flattering light.

Andnes’ rendition was a typical battle between Dionysian and Apollonian, won by the latter.

After a twelve year absence from his schedule, the Norwegian pianist returns to the classic warhorse in a bracing concert given by Concerto Copenhagen. 

The final song seemed to last both an eternity and no time at all.

In a memorable evening, Jurowski and the LPO presented entirely convincing accounts.
