An exceptional young duo take to the stage at Southbank Centre for the first time.

Superstar pianist Alice Sara Ott joins forces with Francesco Tristano, a pianist and composer who unusually has made as much of an impact in the club scene as in the classical world.

Their concert opens with Tristano's arrangement for two pianos of Ravel's perennially popular Bolero. Ravel's own arrangement of Debussy's vivid 3 Nocturnes is followed by the former's cataclysmic post-World War I take on the Viennese waltz, La Valse. Tristano's A Soft Shell Groove Suite showcases the composer's music with its eclectic range of influences. And to close, he and Ott perform the two-piano version of Stravinsky's iconoclastic ballet The Rite of Spring, a work that changed the musical world forever.
