Carmen humaine : la Compañia Nacional de Danza à Mogador

Rambert’s double bill, clearly a joyous experience for the many who leaped to their feet whooping, but perhaps a bit lightweight for anyone not quite so easily satisfied with novelty.

Swedish choreographer, Johan Inger, reimagines Carmen for The Australian Ballet, and purports to flip the script on "toxic masculinity" and the 200 year old tale of power and passion.  

It's not an easy watch, but Johan Inger's Carmen is a brave commentary on misogyny in today's society. English National Ballet give of their best.
