Christoph Eschenbach has been connected with our Orchestra for more than 50 years. Nor will this be the first time that he heads a foreign tour by the Orchestra.
As our new Honorary Conductor, he will perform two top-drawer programmes which we will take on an extensive tour of the USA. Two classics of the violin soloist’s repertoire, the Concertos by Bruch and Mendelssohn, as well as Beethoven’s »Eroica« and Mahler’s Fifth Symphony, will be in our bags as we visit venues in Florida and on the West Coast – after New York’s legendary Carnegie Hall, where we last appeared in 1983 with Eugen Jochum.
This tour will be our ninth to the USA since the Bamberg Symphony was founded, including concerts Nos. 55 to 63.
The final programme is yet to be announced.
