Surréaliste, psychanalytique, ce Pélléas et Mélisande l’est donc assurément. Mais c’est peut-être sa naïveté, sa tendresse presque enfantine, qui l’emporte.

S’il fallait choisir parmi toutes les belles idées de mise en scène de ce très réussi Oedipus Rex, on s’accorderait sans doute sur celle-ci : la primauté incontestée de l’esthétique et des intentions de Stravinski.

Rachmaninovfest au TCE avec Ashkenazy, Berezovsky et le Philharmonia Orchestra

Dans ce programme exigeant, Berezovsky, que l'on a connu plus fringant, n'offre qu'une prestation honorable du premier concerto en fa dièse mineur. Ashkenazy, à travers la Symphonie n°2 de Rachmaninoff, mène un travail de fond avec une phalange qui fut un temps l'une des plus belles du monde.
