Balanchine's Baiser de la fée still doesn't work

American Ballet Theatre revives Lar Lubovitch's 1997 Othello with Marcelo Gomes, Julie Kent, James Whiteside, and Stella Abrera in the lead roles. Unfortunately, the formidable dancing and acting could not survive the calamitous score.

Rachel Rizzuto

Rachel Rizzuto received her BFA in dance performance and choreography from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is currently an editor for Dance Teacher magazine, and she is a founding member of modern dance company Mari Meade Dance Collective.
