Schubert’s lyricism, raised to perfection in his songs, runs through his final Piano Sonata. Igor Levit devotes his recital’s first half to this all-encompassing work, by turns contemplative and ecstatic, before diving into the imaginary soundscapes of Schumann’s Nachtstücke and Chopin’s majestic Sonata in B minor.
