Davide Livermore creates a successful production of Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria at the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona, with a great cast led by Mauro Borgioni. 

Gianluca Capuano leads Les Musiciens du Prince and Il Canto d’Orfeo in a spectacular rendition of Monteverdi’s masterpiece at the Salzburg Whitsun Festival. 

Blending the music of Monteverdi with lesser-known contemporaries, and even some pop, choreographer Christian Spuck takes leave of Zürich with a work that is as full of poetry as it is of emotional charge.

Julie Fuchs and Delphine Galou shine in this revival and the Orchestra La Scintilla gives a great performance under Ottavio Dantone’s baton.

Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria is given the Pinchgut treatment, with an abstract staging complementing historically informed music-making under Erin Helyard.
