Imaginative Bach and an exciting new work by Dobrinka Tabakova played by the Amsterdam Sinfonietta with pianists Ferhan and Ferzan Önder.

In a rare appearance outside London in the UK, world-renowned Russian violinist Viktoria Mullova, harpsichordist Ottavio Dantone and the Italian ensemble Accademia Bizantina took to the stage at St George’s Bristol to perform four Baroque concertos by J.S. Bach.

Winter in the Swiss Alps: freezing temperatures and snow outside. A modest seventeenth-century church of elegant proportions, painted plasterwork and wood panelling. A dozen crack musicians, specialists in baroque music.

The first fingers of the wintry season came to Canterbury on Monday 8 November, and the Eden-Stell Guitar Duo’s Lunchtime Concert at University of Kent’s Gulbenkian Theatre was the perfect antidote to the chill.The programme opened with Bach’s arrangement of Marcello’s Oboe Concerto in D, re-arranged by Chris Stell for guitar duet.

Trois ensembles et six clavecinistes ont proposé à Radio France une intégrale des concertos pour clavecin de Johann Sebastian Bach. Le projet a oscillé entre prises de risques décomplexées et miracle musical.

Organisé par les clubs Rotary, Rotaract et InnerWheel de Toulouse, ce concert caritatif réunissait des artistes de renom pour un programme musical autour de la figure tutélaire de Johann Sebastian Bach.

Interprétés par le trio Martin-Alard-Rondeau et Les Folies Françoises, les concertos pour 2 et 3 clavecins de Bach sont un bouquet de chefs-d’œuvre, dont l'exécution complète est déjà en soi une rareté.

L’Ensemble Baroque de l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, après une merveilleuse Alcina a un peu déçu sans pour autant démériter. La musique de Bach reste d’une puissance telle, qu’elle reste fascinante par sa structure et les émotions qu’elle suscite.
