La soprano Dorothea Röschmann et le pianiste Malcom Martineau ont offert un récital de haute tenue à l’Opéra des Nations de Genève. Somptuosité du timbre chaud de la soprano et accompagnement superbe de sensibilité et de couleurs se conjuguèrent pour un moment musical d'une rare intensité.

C’est à un admirable récital que Simon Keenlyside et Malcolm Martineau nous convièrent dans une somptueuse errance romantique dans les terres schubertiennes. Après un Hamlet mémorable, nous espérons le revoir bientôt sur les planches genevoises afin de goûter à son sens inné de la scène et succomber de nouveau à cette voix somptueuse.

Leeds Lieder+, the northern biennial festival of art song, began on Friday night with Bright is the Ring of Words. German baritone Roman Trekel, who made a rare London appearance replacing Dorothea Röschmann at the Wigmore Hall on Friday night, is a highly respected singer known especially for his many Wagner roles as well as for his Lieder interpretation. I first encountered him singing Wolfram in Tannhaüser at the Bayreuth Festival some years ago.
