Expectations ran high when Yannick Nezet-Seguin took the reins of the Metropolitan Opera in 2018. Richard Strauss’s sumptuous fairy tale opera gets a complete concertante performance with a star-studded international cast and a major role for the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. Just once in the Netherlands, only in Rotterdam.
