S’il fallait choisir parmi toutes les belles idées de mise en scène de ce très réussi Oedipus Rex, on s’accorderait sans doute sur celle-ci : la primauté incontestée de l’esthétique et des intentions de Stravinski.

Rachmaninovfest au TCE avec Ashkenazy, Berezovsky et le Philharmonia Orchestra

Dans ce programme exigeant, Berezovsky, que l'on a connu plus fringant, n'offre qu'une prestation honorable du premier concerto en fa dièse mineur. Ashkenazy, à travers la Symphonie n°2 de Rachmaninoff, mène un travail de fond avec une phalange qui fut un temps l'une des plus belles du monde.

Simon Cummings is a composer, writer and researcher based in the Cotswolds. He composes instrumental and electronic music, exploring aspects of algorithmic composition, and has recently completed a Ph.D. in composition at the Birmingham Conservatoire under the supervision of Richard Causton and Howard Skempton.
