Auf Einladung von Migros-Kulturprozent-Classics präsentierte das britische Top-Orchester unter seinem Chefdirigenten Sakari Oramo in drei Schweizer Städten sämtliche sieben Symphonien von Jean Sibelius.

Symphonie von Edward Elgar die das NDR Elbphilharmonieorchester unter der Leitung des finnischen Dirigenten Sakari Oramo spielte. Für das Violinkonzert von Benjamin Britten kam die junge norwegische Geigerin Vilde Frang als Solistin hinzu.

Unter dem Taktstock von Sakari Oramo gab die Königliche Philharmonie aus Stockholm ihr jährliches Gastspiel in Göteborg. Neben einem Stück von Anders Hillborg wurde mit der Fünften Symphonie von Sergej Prokofjew und Sibelius' Violinkonzert groß aufgespielt.

In between the two symphonies, there was an extra Sibelius item, and this time it was a novelty.

Oramo's structural insight ensures ideal tempo relations between sections, so crucial in Sibelius.
