In a warm Glasgow homecoming, Sir Donald Runnicles gives a magnificent, moving Mahler 9, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. 

Sir Donald Runnicles led a vivid account of The Pines of Rome and an exciting yet thoughtful performance of Carmina Burana with three superb soloists.

An impressive concert at Symphony Hall also features Melody Eötvös' The Deciding Machine and Jacquelyn Stucker singing Strauss. 

The Lyric revives Sir David McVicar’s production of Strauss’ horrific tale with a superb cast led by Swedish “helden-soprano” Nina Stemme.
