Allzu lange kaute Rameau für den Geschmack des damaligen Publikums auf der Gegenüberstellung von Gut und Böse, Schwarz und Weiß herum. Wäre die Neuproduktion der Komischen Oper Berlin die Uraufführung gewesen, hätte es Rameaus Bühnenmusik wohl auch nicht leichter gehabt. 

Mit einer konzertanten Fassung der Oper Zoroastre von Jean-Philipp Rameau stellen sich Raphaël Pichon und sein Ensemble Pygmalion erstmals am Theater an der Wien vor. 

Das französische Ensemble beendet das Bachfest mit einer sehr virtuosen Interpretation, bei der meditative Elemente nicht völlig zum Tragen kommen.

Avant-dernière œuvre d’Haendel et seul de ses oratorios fondé sur un sujet chrétien, Theodora apparaît également comme le testament musical d’un musicien au crépuscule de sa vie. Cette nouvelle production retranscrit avec justesse son esprit tout en en modernisant la lettre.

Cette nouvelle production de Dardanus ravit les amoureux de musique baroque par sa qualité, mais peut laisser perplexes les amoureux de mise en scène et costumes plus discrets.
