Samedi 24 janvier, Max Emanuel Cenčić chantait à Versailles son programme "Rokoko" entièrement consacré aux airs de Hasse, avec la complicité de George Petrou et son ensemble Armonia Atenea. Une très belle soirée.

Grand succès de Hasse, le rival de Haendel, l’opéra Siroe, Re di Persia est tiré cet automne de l’oubli par Max Emanuel Cenčić dans le rôle-titre et à la mise en scène. Un spectacle éblouissant.

It is perhaps inevitable that a Greek Baroque ensemble on their first visit to the Proms would want to showcase a programme with a link to their ancient heritage. 

Let’s be clear: this was a performance of the highest order. From the first five notes of the overture, the sixteen-member orchestra Armonia Aténéa led by George Petrou ravished the audience of the Salle Pleyel with Handel’s full splendour.
