Isabelle Faust joins the FBO for a performance of Schumann's Violin Concerto, a work embargoed by the composer's friends after his death.

Understatement is key in Paul Lewis' interpretation of Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic under Adam Hickox.

In the last of the LSO's Sydney concerts, Sir Simon Rattle's affinity with Bruckner's score results in a heartfelt performance of the Seventh Symphony.

Magdalena Kožená provides a compelling case for two little-heard Martinů song cycles; Rattle and the Czech Phil are competent but not altogether convincing in Schumann.

The last conductor to have led such a superb account of Rachmaninov's Third Symphony was quite possibly its composer.

How much classical restraint and how much Romantic feeling do you really want in 19th-century concertos and symphonies? With the RPO, Fumiaki Miura and Andrew Gourlay both choose to err on the side of the former.

Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Stephen Hough and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra provide oodles of vibrancy and passion in Schumann and Brahms.

The replication of the weekend’s triumph was cut short by a somewhat dimly executed Fourth Symphony, as violinist Faust stole the show.

With Gardiner’s eye for detail, the LSO triumph in a concert that marks the start of a new Schumann symphony cycle.

Paarvo Järvi and the NHK Symphony give a riveting account of Schumann and Schubert.
