Vadym Kholodenko ist ein Klangmagier: sein Spiel war äußerst sprechend, bilderreich, mit blühender Agogik erzählend-plastisch und dabei unprätentiös: große Klavierkunst!

Ein Konzert mit diesem Künstler macht einen sprachlos: ein magerer, bleichgesichtiger Junge, der technisch nicht mehr weit davon entfernt ist, sich mit den Meistern seines Faches messen zu können.

Matsuev machte die Schwierigkeiten des Werks vergessen, man hört mehr ein spätromantisches Gemälde als Details des Klaviersatzes.
