À la Philharmonie, le récital d'Alexandre Tharaud est synonyme de retour à la vie, marquant les retrouvailles entre l'institution et ses spectateurs après six mois de streaming.

Heureux de retrouver le public, le duo Devieilhe-Thauraud livre un récital aussi excitant que bouleversant à travers les grands compositeurs de mélodie française.

Dans la programmation du festival Piano aux Jacobins, le virtuose d’Alexandre Tharaud était bien évidemment très attendu. Celui qui fêtera ses cinquante ans en fin d’année 2018 n’est plus à présenter tant sa personnalité s’est imposée dans le paysage français et international. 

Sous la direction de Yannick Nézet-Séguin, l'orchestre montréalais interprétait Elgar (avec Stéphane Tétreault), Ravel (avec Alexandre Tharaud) et Debussy. Retour sur une première qui en appelle d'autres.

Les Goldberg d’Alexandre Tharaud nourrissent essentiellement les sens. Des idylles se succèdent, plus tendres les unes que les autres, marquant une brève rupture dans ce qui n’a pas d’intégrité et n’impose aucun rythme. Mais il est dans les Variations Goldberg une exigence d’architecture qui dépasse de beaucoup la joliesse ponctuelle.

Clef de voûte de l ‘œuvre pour clavier du grand Jean-Sébastien Bach, les Variations Goldberg s’élevèrent religieusement sous les doigts longs et fins d’Alexandre Tharaud.

Despite forecasts of gales, there was a virtually full house at the Wigmore Hall for a lunchtime recital given by French pianist Alexandre Tharaud. The stage was set at (Le) Poisson Rouge: a royal blue curtain and a brilliant red light contrasted nicely with the shine of the black and white piano. Simple yet bold, the stage was akin to a Mondrian painting. And as Scarlatti’s notes rolled off Alexandre Tharaud’s fingers, this striking visual matched the crisp performance perfectly.
