Dans un programme constitué de trois œuvres russes du XXe siècle (de Chostakovitch, Rachmaninov et Prokofiev), il a manqué l'étincelle, le feu qui font les grandes soirées.

Le pianiste russe a livré en deux concerts une interprétation duelle, entre une langueur confinant à la mollesse et des passages vivaces au caractère très affirmé.

Il fallait bien la solidité technique et la richesse expressive, rares, de l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Saint-Pétersbourg, alliées au brio et à l’élégance d’un Berezovsky en très grande forme, pour sublimer ces deux substances au détriment d’aucune. Un grand concert !

Depuis des années, la possibilité de faire concorder l’expérience esthétique, donc hyper-personnelle, de la musique avec l’idée d’un concours fait débat.
