The Philharmonic continues its celebration of the composer-conductor’s centennial with pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard as soloist in an innovative program juxtaposing selections by the modernist maestro with pieces by Debussy.

In their final Carnegie Hall appearance of the season, the Philadelphians offered a superbly integrated program bookending a Valerie Coleman premiere with groundbreaking pieces by Ravel and Debussy. 

 A Glière premiere and two French classics showcase the outstanding qualities of the BSO in a night to remember.

As part of a programme of works by Mozart, Debussy and Stravinsky, conductor Andris Nelsons recently paired up the venerable Gewandhausorchester Leipzig with the fine German pianist, Martin Helmchen.
